Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do you offer payment plans?
A. Absolutely! Taking advantage of our Payment Plans will allow you to spread your overall investment into several payments allowing you to more appropriately choose the packages and fine art portraits that best fit your needs. Think of it as kind of a Simple Treasures Photography Layaway. We have several options to fit everyone's needs.
Q. What happens if it’s raining?
A. Obviously as an on-location photographer, there are times when the weather decides to turn against my plans. So, if it’s raining, or there is a 50% chance of rain prior to the session, we will reschedule if the location is not suitable for rain. In addition, if there are any government or public-school closures due to inclement weather your session will most likely be rescheduled as well.
Q. What do you mean when you say that you want us to match without looking too matchy-matchy?
A. Try to remember that color can be your friend, have fun with it. You can also stay neutral but add in a few pops of color. Try to stay away from white unless you are a bride, even then…you can still have fun with color! If you are having a hard time with your wardrobe collection prior to your session please let me know, and I am happy to lend a hand or better yet… a link with a full color guide!
Q. Do you post all portrait sessions on your website, blog, and social media?
A. No. We respect the privacy of our clients and obtain a model release prior to your portrait session. On that model release clients are able to respectfully request that we not share photos online.
Q. How soon should I book my Wedding Photographer?
A. NOW! Early planning is becoming the trend, so to be certain I have the availability you are looking for at least 6 months, but 12 to 18 months is even better. That’s not to say that if you are planning a last-minute wedding I’m not your girl, I may be able to help you out!
Q. How long until I get my portraits?
A. Regular sessions like senior portraits, and family sessions will get a few “Sneak Peaks” a few days after their sessions, and all editing will be completed and delivered 1-2 weeks after your session is paid in full. For some orders it may take up to 4 weeks to receive your artwork. We will keep you updated on timing of your artwork.
Q. Refund Policy
A. Package, Session, and Event fees are non-refundable, should the client have to cancel their session (and does so prior to 48 hours before the session date) the payments made will be held as credit for an upcoming session or a reschedule date. After 2 cancellations, the session is considered permanently cancelled and a new session fee must be made in order to start the booking process over again. Fees paid are valid for 1 year, after that time there is no credit left. There is a $30 returned check fee that will be charged in the event your check payment does not clear.
Q. Gift Certificates and Credits
A. Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and are valid for one year from date of purchase. Gift certificates cannot be traded in for case, or used for artwork purchases, but applied to session fees, or digital images.
Q. I need to reschedule, what do I do?
A. Obviously, kids will get sick, cars will break down, and bosses will call you into work. With that being said, if you know you will not be able to make your reserved time, please call me at your earliest possible time. You are able to reschedule your session one time without penalty. If you no show, any fees paid are no longer a credit to your session.
Q. Can I share my images on Facebook, Twitter and the like?
A. Certainly! However, I do request that you clearly state either next to the photo or underneath, “Photos Taken by Simple Treasures Photography”.
Q. How and when should I reserve my session?
A. Shoot me an email, let’s chat about what you are looking for and how we can accomplish that! No session will be held without deposit. I schedule portrait sessions on weekdays, generally Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with VERY limited weekend availability during the off season for weddings. During wedding season, my weekends are generally full. I am usually booked out 6-8 weeks so please schedule your sessions early, however, if you’re in a bind and I am able to make an exception I certainly will do my best to meet your needs.
Q. How far are you willing to go?
A. For portrait photography I generally service Helena, Bozeman, and surrounding areas, however we can shoot wherever you would like to just keep in mind your session fee includes 50 miles round trip from 59644, outside of that there is a $.58 per mile charge. Locations further than 100 miles round trip may be subject to additional fees and travel rates. Promotional and special event sales are limited to local service areas.
For wedding coverage, I am willing to shoot wherever a plane ticket will take me, inquire about current travel fees. If your destination wedding is in an area on our “photography bucket list” your travel fees may be waived.
Q. Do my photographs need to be shared on social media?
A. That is completely up to you. I do not share any photographs on social media without your explicit consent. At your ordering appointment I will walk you through your options. You have 4 options to choose from; a full release, a partial release, studio samples only, or you may choose to waive it entirely and keep the photos just for you.
Q. Is there a minimum purchase?
A. There is no minimum purchase. Most clients spend between $1,000-$1,500 at their ordering appointment.
Q. Do you offer payment plans?
A. Yes! Payment arrangements can be made. Please note you will not receive any artwork until payment has been made in full.
Q. If I don't purchase my images at my reveal, can I come back later and get them?
A. I want to make sure that you get your absolute favorite images, so I will keep your entire gallery on file for 24hrs after your reveal for anything you may have missed. After that, I delete the images that you did not choose, so make sure you get 'em while you can!! Arrangements can be made if necessary.
